SENIOR DESIGN PROJECTS
Real World Experience

In their senior year at TCU, the engineering students take part in a capstone design project. The senior class of 10 to 20 students organizes themselves as a company, which enters into a contractual agreement with a real customer.  As often happens in industry, the projects typically involve multidisciplinary expertise and require a hardware product to be delivered at the end of the contract period. Resources allocated to the student company include a budget (provided by the customer), dedicated workspace, computing/CAD facilities, consulting with faculty and staff, machine shop assistance, instructional service assistance (e.g., video and presentation aids), limited secretarial assistance, long distance telephone, and facsimile.  The senior design program is organized and overseen by Dr. Patrick Walter.
